Conclusions

The conclusions we can draw from this are simple.

For some people reading this site, the conclusions are earth-shattering and terrifying. If you are a gay Christadelphian, you have possibly lived for years with the belief that the Bible taught you could never enter into a sexual and romantic relationship. Even the suggestion that the Bible does not teach this can be distressing for you, especially if you have ended meaningful relationships in the past because of what you believed the Bible taught. If you are in that position, study the word of God and pray. Doctor Thomas said "Investigate everything you believe—if it is the truth it cannot be injured thereby; if error, the sooner it is correct the better."

For others, the conclusions are disgusting. After all "The Bible must have some prohibition against something as vile as homosexual activity." If you are in that position, then you are letting your instincts determine what is right, but it is the Bible you must listen to. If you are in that position, study the word of God and pray. Doctor Thomas said "Investigate everything you believe—if it is the truth it cannot be injured thereby; if error, the sooner it is correct the better."

We must all prayerfully study the Bible. It is the Bible that makes us "wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 3:15, NIV). Paul wrote "Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror" (1 Corinthians 13:12, NIV) (or "For now we see through a glass, darkly" in the KJV). As we walk towards the Kingdom we will learn things. Conclusions we thought were unshakable will be challenged and overturned. Sometimes we will see a better reflection of the truth than others—but the only way we can see anything is if we look, and the only place we can look is the Bible.

Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world
Matthew 25:34, NIV
