Gay Christadelphians

Throughout the world there are many people who love the Christadelphian faith, many people who love the Bible as the word of God, just as Christadelphians do. Some of those people are gay.

The Bible, the word of God, does not oppose same-sex relationships. The passages many Christadelphians use to oppose same-sex relationships are often mistranslated and misunderstood. By studying these passages in their historical and Biblical contexts we can see that loving someone, whatever their gender, will not exclude you from the Kingdom of God.

The Bible has wonderful affirmations of same-sex love. Ruth's declaration of her love to Naomi is used in weddings throughout the world, and there is the story of Jonathan and David, whose love was "wonderful, passing the love of women".

Come, Inherit The Kingdom

Being gay and Christadelphian has its own unique challenges. Some Christadelphians view all gay people as intrinsically immoral. It is generally believed that celibacy is the only option for a gay Christadelphian. Many ecclesias would have difficulty continuing to love and support a member they knew to be gay. Ostracism is always a real possibility. Sometimes gay Christadelphians are even coerced into the torture of reparative therapy.

When faced with these pressures, it is no surprise that many gay people leave the Christadelphians, before or after baptism. Families, and ecclesias, can be torn apart when one member recognises that they are gay. Brothers and sisters, it should not be so. Read about the real-life experiences of faithful gay Christadelphians. Prayerfully consider what the Bible says, and think about what you can do to end the prejudice that gay Christadelphians face.

All One in Christ

Most people visiting this site are familiar with 1 Corinthians and Romans when thinking about same-sex relationships and the Bible. But Paul's letter to the Galatians has useful insight on this subject. Read All One in Christ, a new section in What the Bible Says.

Site Mothballed

I haven't updated this site in a long time because I've said all I have to say. My spiritual growth has lead me away from the Christadelphians, and although I still hold sound "BASF" beliefs, I'm no longer a member of a Christadelphian ecclesia. As such, I won't be updating this site in the foreseeable future, but I will be reading any email you send. Despite the stories to the contrary, I have never been challenged or counselled about my beliefs by any ecclesia.

Bye everyone, its been an education, and I'll see you all in the Kingdom.
